There are so many people doubt for Jose
Rizal’s Heroism and they insist that Andres Bonifacio best fits for National
Hero Title. While some are telling that comparing them is not a good idea for
the reason that they are very different from each other. But how can we have
National Hero if we will not choose from the choices? Comparing them doesn’t
really mean that we need to honor one of them and degrade the other one; it’s
just a safety move to match them for us to know who best fits for the title.
Rizal and Bonifacio are the two
personalities that the nation is debating for. The big question is; who is our
National Hero? Is it Rizal or Bonifacio?
I will not give emphasis to their personal life; my respect here is that
who among of them marked to our heart the most?
Rizal is a propagandist; he used
writings as his lethal weapon to slavery. He is a silent warrior who attacked
the Spanish government by means of writings. He reveals all wicked acts of the
Spanish. He meant to awake Filipinos to start fighting for their freedom, but
Rizal didn’t won the battle when he is still alive, it is because that the
pictures of Rizal is in the office of Andres Bonifacio and the Spanish
Government accused him and kill him.
Bonifacio
on the other hand, fought with swords and guns in his hands. Rizal inspires
Bonifacio that’s why he meant to war against Spaniards. But because of
Bonifacio’s greediness, he always loses the battle until to his death.
Even today, it is Rizal who inspires
majority of the Filipinos and even Bonifacio. So, because of Rizal, Filipinos tried
to achieve their freedom and we made it. Although Bonifacio is part of the
battle, he just only continued what Rizal had started.
